Week 1: The Mental Edge

Coach’s Corner

Physical preparation gets attention, but mental preparation often determines outcomes.

This week focuses on the mental edge: the ability to stay focused, composed, and adaptable regardless of external conditions. Athletes and leaders alike perform best when they train their minds as intentionally as they train to learn their skills.

TIDAL Tip of the Week

Mental preparation begins with Focus. Before a high-pressure moment, narrow your attention to one controllable element: your breath, posture, or a specific action.

Practicing this consistently trains your mind to return to the present rather than getting pulled into outcomes or expectations. Over time, this strengthens composure and execution under pressure.
