Week 1: ‘The Inner Game’

June 02, 20261 min read

Coach’s Corner

Performance begins internally. Thoughts, emotions, and focus all influence execution. This week introduces the idea of the “inner game”, the mental space where performance is either supported or disrupted.

TIDAL Tip of the Week

Pay attention to your internal dialogue during performance moments. Ask yourself the following questions:

  • What am I saying to myself right now?

  • Is this dialog helpful, neutral, or distracting to me?

  • What would a more constructive cue or voice sound like?

Awareness of self-talk is the first step toward mental control.
