Week 2: “Visualization & Imagery”

September 08, 20261 min read

Coach’s Corner

Before a competition, many athletes mentally rehearse the moment: the conditions, the pressure, the response they want to have. This builds familiarity, so the real moment feels less foreign.

Leaders can use the same tool. Mentally walking through a difficult conversation, a high-stakes presentation, or a tense negotiation before it happens, leads to the same kind of readiness.

TIDAL Tip of the Week

Before your next high-stakes moment this week, take two minutes to visualize it:

What does the room, the call, or the conversation look like?

How do I want to respond if it becomes tense?

What does a composed, effective version of me sound like?

Rehearsing the moment in advance often makes the real one feel more manageable.
